UDALGURI: A total of five books in Nepali language was released in a function organized to observe the Nepali language recognition day in the Indian Constitution.

Hamro Bharat by Tarapati Upadhyaya, Kabita Manjari by Bidyapati Dahal, Gham Chhaya by Bishnu Sarma Neupane, Umanga by Indira Gautam and Prashnachinha by Hiranmayee Acharya Sarma were released during the literary session which was organized to commemorate the Nepali language movement.

Chandramohan Chhetry, senior social worker, was felicitated during the session for his contribution to the society. Tarapati Upadhyaya, senior litterateur, spoke on the Nepali language movement in India while Gyan Bahadur Chhetry was also spoke on the importance of Nepali literature in the present context. The Arhiman Memorial Award was presented to the five students who secured highest marks in the HSLC and HS exams in the district. The meeting was presided over by Laxman Adhikari, the president of Udalguri district Nepali Sahitya Sabha, and the meeting was conducted by Mohan Kumar Chhetry.
