Flash Flood Caused by Gabharu, Kakoi Inundates Riverside, Villages Place in Lakhimpur

Due to heavy downpour, that incessantly took place in Lakhimpur and nearby State of Arunachal Pradesh from Sunday evening, the water level of some rivers of the district rose on Monday.

LAKHIMPUR: Flood in River Gabharu & Kakoi: Due to heavy downpour, that incessantly took place in Lakhimpur and nearby State of Arunachal Pradesh from Sunday evening, the water level of some rivers of the district rose on Monday. As a result of it, flash flood caused by rivers Gabharu and Kakoi inundated some riverside villages and submerged residential houses.

Flash flood caused by River Kakoi inundated Tengabosti and Bagangaon under Kadam Revenue Circle. On the other hand, overflowing water of River Gabharu flooded Garhmur, Christian Bosti and Baramile villages under Naoboicha Revenue Circle. The flash flood caused by the two rivers reportedly submerged almost 150 residential houses of the affected villages in addition to affecting fisheries and crop areas. Flood caused by River Gabharu breached the Laluk-Garhmur connecting road under Naoboicha Revenue Circle.
