NALBARI: The flood situation in the Nalbari district has deteriorated with the number of affected villages increasing day by day.

The entire Barbhag area and the western part of the district have been submerged. Mangaldoi MP Dilip Saikia, 59 LAC MLA and minister Jayanta Malla Baruah visited the flood-affected areas on Thursday. Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary on Friday visited Rajakhat relief camp under Banekuchi Revenue Circle and took stock of the damage caused by the flood.

Commissioner of Lower Assam division, Jayant Narlikar also visited the Nalbari district on Friday and assessed the facilities provided to the inmates of Bal Bhawan HS relief camp at Sariahtoli, PNRD Extension Centre, Nalbari and so on. During his visit, he was accompanied by Nalbari Deputy Commissioner Gitimoni Phukan and other officials of the district. The overall flood situation of the district is worsening day by day.
