Former CM Sarbananda Sonowal Requested People to Adhere COVID Protocol Strictly

DIBRUGARH: "We can defeat the dreaded virus only by adhering to COVID protocol with dedication and order," said former Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal during an interactive session with the media persons here on Sunday.

Attending the civic welfare functions, organized by various sister concerns of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dibrugarh district at Hatimura PlayGround on Sunday in order to commemorate the party's successful completion of 7 years in power, former Chief Minister, Sonowal put more emphasis on following the guidelines as laid down by the health officials and WHO for effective control of the dreaded virus. He firmly believed that it could check the COVID pandemic and ensure health security to society.

He said, "We shall overcome the second surge of COVID-19, as we had achieved success in our war against the virus in the first phase." He further lauded the State Government's sincere and dedicated service to bring the pandemic under control and asserted that the State would certainly reign over the spread of COVID-19 successfully.

Sonowal added, "The Union Government has not only been ushering high standard medical treatment to all those who are continuously struggling to defeat COVID infection but also supplying all essential items like ration and other food materials, including sanitizers and masks to all poor and needy people. The BJP, through its several sister concerns, has been extending all kind of help to distressed people so that the people do not face any problem."

To mark the occasion, BJP's medical cell, under the guidance and supervision of the prabhari of the party in Assam, Dr Riktom Borgohain, and convener of medical cell, Dr Saikat Patra, distributed food materials, ration, face masks and sanitizers among the poor and distressed people. Similarly, face masks and sanitizers were also distributed amongst the journalists of Dibrugarh.
