BOKAKHAT: Floods wreaked havoc in many villages under the Khumtai and Dergaon assembly constituencies in Golaghat district. Due to the complete destruction of farmlands in several villages, the farmers are facing severe difficulties. To support the affected farmers, BJP State Secretary and former Minister Bismita Gogoi distributed seedlings (kothia) among them.
Accompanied by party workers, the leader herself joined in the fields to collect and distribute seedlings, continuing her efforts to support the flood-hit people. Even after the devastating flood, many farmers are still unable to till their land due to the lack of seedlings. Though several individuals, including MLA Mrinal Saikia, have provided seedlings in many parts of the Khumtai constituency, many farmers are still left without them. According to Bismita Gogoi, she will arrange to provide as many seedlings as possible to enable farmers to resume cultivation. During the floods as well, the former minister actively visited affected areas, extended substantial help to the victims, and tried to resolve their grievances.
