DHUBRI: Foundation stone of two model high schools was jointly laid by legislator of Bilasipara (East), Ashok Kumar Singhi and Dhubri Deputy Commissioner AnantLalGyani at Chapor and Choibari Tea Garden of Dhubri district on Monday.

The two model high schools sanctioned by the State Government will be constructed at the cost of Rs. 2.10 crore with all facilities and amenities for students. Speaking on the occasion, Singhi called upon the people to come forward and make this constituency developed one.

Singhi lamented that in last 72 years, no government prior to BJP could construct even a single high school in the backward area of this district. But the BJP government at Dispur decided to open not one but two high schools and that too in model concept.

"I have been working day and night since after becoming MLA to transform this constituency into a model one in Assam as I have prioritized health, education, road for better communication, agriculture, sports, religious institutions, uplift of unprivileged and downtrodden people and all other fields in my constituency. I will continue to do so till my last breath," Singhi assured.

Singhi thanked Chief Minister SarbanandaSonowal and Education Minister HimantaBiswaSarma for their unflinching support to him to lift the socio-economic condition of the people.

Addressing the meeting, Dhubri Deputy Commissioner AnantLalGyani said that these two model high schools would change the education scenario of this area in the days to come.

"After completion of the high schools, students will not need to travel far, which will encourage the students to continue studies and this will stop them from dropping out of schools to a great extent," Gyani added.

The meeting was also addressed by BilasiparaSubdivisional Officer (Civil) MridulYadav, vice-president of State Adivasi Students' Association, RajenHoro and dignitaries.
