Four-day-long 17th general conference of AASU underway in Duliajan

DULIAJAN: The four-day-long 17th general conference of the AASU (All Assam Students' Union) got underway on Wednesday with the opening of the main gate, martyrs memorial dais, the book fair and registration of delegates at Solakataky playground in Duliajan.

In the evening there were cultural programmes with local artistes and the central executive committee held its meeting at night.

On Thursday, the conference will resume with the hoisting of AASU flag, to be followed by paying tributes to martyrs and a cultural rally.

The open session will be held on Friday when the students' body will form its new committee for the next term.
