Gargaon College celebrates 75th NCC Day in Sivasagar
The historic Gargaon College celebrated the 75th NCC Day with fervour at the Academic Gallery of the college on Tuesday

SIVASAGAR: The historic Gargaon College celebrated the 75th NCC Day with fervour at the Academic Gallery of the college on Tuesday. Lt. Commander Rajesh Bhujel, Commanding Officer, 49 Assam Naval Unit, PI Staff of 11 Assam Girls (I) Coy, NCC, Sivasagar Hav, Dharm Chand Meena were the chief guests of the programme.
Inaugurating the programme, Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, Principal of Gargaon College, said that NCC would help the youths to become responsible citizens and also help them gain leadership qualities. Elaborating on the importance of NCC, Dr Mahanta said that NCC provides a platform for the young students to develop and to become responsible citizens. He called upon the students to join NCC and serve the nation.
The chief guest, Lt. Commander Rajesh Bhujel spoke on the significance of the NCC Day and emphasized the importance of devotion, dedication and sincerity in one's service to the nation. He congratulated the NCC cadets on the auspicious occasion of the 75th NCC Day celebration for their constant contribution and service towards the nation. Dr Dilip Kumar Deka, Associate Professor, Department of Geography, and Dr Surajit Saikia, IQAC Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Economics Department, also delivered speech on the importance of NCC. In addition to the main programme, a colourful cultural programne was organized wherein the cadets and students of the college participated in various songs, dances and other activities. The programme was coordinated by Dr Raktim Patar, 49 Assam Naval Unit and Pimily Langthasa, 11 Assam Girls (1) Coy NCC Sivasagar.
