GAURISAGAR : Gaurisagar High School (formerly Gaurisagar Girls' High School) recently conferred social worker and educationist Lila Kanta Kalita and Guna Prabha Kalita Education Trust's awards to the meritorious students of the school who passed with flying colours in HSLC examination in the years of 2019 and 2020.

In this connection, a meeting was held recently at the school's auditorium. SMC president Ranjit Borah conducted the meeting while Probin Kalita, advocate cum donor family of the trust, educationist Nogen Nath, Dilip Kumar Neog, social worker Mrinaka Saikia and Bhula Kakoty took part as the distinguish guests. The meeting was anchored by Montu Kalita, an employee of the school while Mukut Deka, headmaster of the school explained the objective and welcomed the guests and gathering. In the meeting, school fraternity felicitated educationists Nripen Hazarika, Binod Borah, Sursh Borah, Manjit Phukan, Bubul Saikia, Jibon Kalita, Indu Boiragi, journalist Rajib Dutta, retired teachers Pabitra Dutta, and Bhupen Das.

Earlier in the meeting, Krishnali Das received Lila Kanta Kalita and Guna Prabha Kalita Education Trust award for the year 2019 for achieving 83.33 per cent in the HSLC examination with letter marks in all subjects. On the other hand Dhrubajyoti Neog begged the trust for the year 2020 for his achievement in HSLC examination securing 82.83 per cent with letter marks in all subjects. The award carries a citation, a packed of book and Rs 6,000. Notably the school authority felicitated donor member Probin Kalita with a citation, gamusa and seleng. Addressing the gathering, advocate Kalita urged the students' community that this award will inspired the students to devote their excellency with competitive attitude.
