Goalpara district administration undertakes rigorous exercise to facilitate process of enrolment and encourage voters to vote.

GOALPARA: The Goalpara district administration on Wednesday observed the National De-worming Day at Puranibhita Anganwadi centre, Dudhnoi.

With the assembly election drawing near, Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka is leaving no stone unturned to make people aware about their voting rights. 'If medicine is for healthy being, vote is for social being', with this motto, the district administration of Goalpara is encouraging people to enroll their names in the electoral roll and to vote.

For this, the District Election Office is also using various events to garner the masses through piggyback activities. National Deworming Day was observed across the country on February 10. Deworming tablets were provided to children in the ages 1-19 years for ensuring good health. The momentum of the movement was utilized to rekindle The Goalpara district administration on Wednesday observed the National De-worming Day at Puranibhita Anganwadi centre, Dudhnoi.

With the assemhe zeal and spirit of the people, motivating them to get enrolled and vote in the upcoming assembly election. The district administration is uniquely dovetailing efforts and resources of various programmes for ensuring people's participation in the democratic process.

The administration is distributing simple essentials like combs with SVEEP messages printed so that people are reminded of their civic responsibility on a daily basis as they go about their grooming regime. The administration is also distributing with other essentials like sanitary napkins through crowd sourcing for adult women - while exhorting all eligible unenrolled persons to register during the continuous update of electoral rolls period. The administration is comprehensively reaching out to one and all - especially the weaker sections- to come and vote on poll day.

In Goalpara, the District Election Office is particularly ramping up SVEEP activities in the areas with polling stations having low overall and low female voter turnout. With the zealous participation of Poshan Clubs, District Election Officer Varnali Deka has been successfully reaching out to hitherto unenrolled voters of all eligible age groups and demographies with a special focus on 18-19 age group, Persons with Disability (PWD) women and weaker sections.

Through Poshan Clubs, the population in tea garden areas have also been mobilized to get enrolled. More concerted efforts are being planned to realize in letter and spirit the motto 'No voter to be left behind'.

The district administration is also conducting a consolidation process of database of records for the PWDs available across departments, along with a massive reconnaissance exercise across the district to identify hitherto unenrolled PWDs.
