The Goalpara district committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Thursday staged demonstration in front of the DC’s office against the price rise of essential commodities in the market.
GOALPARA: The Goalpara district committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Thursday staged demonstration in front of the DC’s office against the price rise of essential commodities in the market.
By displaying banners and festoons and shouting slogans, the party cadres demanded the government to bring down the unit rate of electricity bill, provide placement to the unemployed youths, issue ration cards to all poor and needy, regularise contractual jobs and over and above, control the price rise of all essential commodities. Later, the committee submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner which was duly signed by Parvez Ali, district secretary. Besides others, Nani Das, district general secretary of CPI (M) was present on the occasion.
