Golaghat DC visited Merapani Community Health Centre, takes stock of its functioning

GOLAGHAT: Dr P Uday Praveen, Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat, on Friday visited Merapani Community Health Centre and took stock of the functioning of the hospital.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the labour room of the health facility and held a discussion with the doctors and health workers regarding health and medical services and facilities being provided to the patients. During his visit, he was informed about various issues like shortage of doctors and ambulances, upgradation of the hospital etc. Since the hospital is located near the Assam-Nagaland border hence he put emphasis on the provision of adequate health facilities and amenities. He also interacted with the patients and addressed their problems.

The Deputy Commissioner also visited the family of a maternal death and reviewed the causes of her death. He also took stock of the family whether they are being benefited from government schemes implemented by various departments. During his visit he was accompanied by Dr Arun Chandra Mahanta, Joint Director, Health, SDMHO, KB Ali, DPM, NHM and officials from health department and other departments.
