Golaghat Deputy Commissioner issues order against price hike of essential commodities

GOLAGHAT: In the interest of public service, the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat, Bibhash Chandra Modi issued an order vide No. GSM/5/2017/Vol-III/8 dated April 23, 2021 to wholesalers/retailers of food grains of Golaghat in view of containing price rise, anti-hoarding activities and equitable distribution of essential commodities.

The DIPRO, Golaghat, Pompy Devi said that in the order issued by the DC, Golaghat, it was stated that all wholesalers should issue cash memos to the retailers mentioning the wholesale price, quantum issued, name and address of the retailers. They are also directed to mention the name of the brand of rice, pulses, edible oils sold to the retailers.

All wholesalers have been directed to maintain sufficient stocks of rice, pulses and other food items so that no scarcity occurs at retail level. They should place indents/orders and rakes in adequate numbers to the source parties. The wholesalers of food grains and potato/onion items should also maintain ample stock of all the products.

Further, the order said that the wholesalers of food grains and onion/potato merchants would not hike the price of any essential commodity in an exorbitant manner and must abide by instructions contained in Govt. WT Message No. FSB. 273/93/32 dtd. 06.01.94.

All retail outlets of petroleum and LPG distributors should maintain sufficient stock of MS/HSD and LPG in their respective premises (retail outlets), godowns and will place adequate indents before the OMC (Oil Marketing Company) and will abide by all the directions passed by the District Magistrate, Golaghat

All retailers have been directed to issue cash memos to consumers against purchase of rice, edible oils, pulses, potato, onion and other food items and all wholesalers/retailers will conspicuously display price and stock board in the shop premises.
