GOLAGHAT: A meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Dr P Uday Praveen in the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Golaghat.
In the first half of the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of the functioning and schemes implemented under various departments and boards such as Sericulture, Handloom and Textile, District Industry and Commerce Centre, Tax, Transport, Soil Conservation, Forest, Fishery, Veterinary, Tourism, Town and Country Planning, Water Resources, Education, Labour Welfare, Dairy Development, Municipal Administration, Khadi and Village Industry Board, Housing Board, Urban Water and Sewerage Board, Assam Gas Company, NABARD and cooperative societies. Reviewing the activities of all departments, he directed all head of departments and others concerned to work with a goal to achieve the target within stipulated time.
In the second half of the meeting, PWD (Roads), PWD (Building), PWD (NEC), NHIDCL, APDCL and Irrigation departments' works and activities were reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner. The Deputy Commissioner laid stress on the need to work faster so that the projects like construction of roads, bridges, erosion preventing projects, irrigation schemes etc could be completed without delay.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner, Orpah Baglari, ADC, Kuldip Hazarika, SDO (C) Dhansiri, Dinchengfa Borua and officials concerned.
