Golaghat administration carried out an eviction drive at Kumarpatty 2 No ward in Golaghat town on Friday against the illegal encroachment of government land.

GOLAGHAT: Golaghat administration carried out an eviction drive at Kumarpatty 2 No ward in Golaghat town on Friday against the illegal encroachment of government land.
In this regard, the Revenue Circle Officer Papori Das said that new construction of houses was seen at the wetland of the Dhansiri river located at Kumarpatty of Golaghat town. A section of people illegally occupied the government land and started construction of houses in the wetland of Dhansiri river. She further said that as per provision of law, eviction could be carried out without giving prior notice to occupants. But on the humanity ground the administration had served notice to vacant government land. But no response and cooperation were not found. Altogether 12 houses had been evicted which were illegally built in the government land.
