MANGALDAI: All Assam FT Group, a body of Foreigners' Tribunal Employees i.e. Data Entry Operators (Grade-III), Copyists (Grade-III) and Chowkidar & Peon (Grade-IV) has appealed the government for an announcement to bring them under the purview of the same pay scale that has been enjoying by the other regular employees of the Foreigners' Tribunals of Assam. In a press release received here on Thursday, the convenors of the employees body Dhruba Bora, Dipankar Kalita, Rajib Narzary and Kuljit Das have stated that the said employees serving in different FTs of the State were selected following a thorough and transparent recruitment against Gauhati High Court's Advertisement No. HC.XXXVII-36/2015/859/R.Cell, Dated Guwahati, the 6th August, 2015.

Accordingly, after almost four years they were appointed in the month of February 2019. Since then they have been serving as fixed pay employees though they do all the official works as done by the employees with regular pay scale. They have lamented that their salary is very low i.e, in the range of Rs 9000/10,000 , equivalent to the salary structure of the year, 2014.

On the other hand employees like UDAs, LDAs, typists, bench assistants. and stenographers (All Grade III) who had qualified under the same advertisement have been getting salary in pay scale besides enhanced salaries as per ROP 2017 as well as all other government facilities. It is also stated that due to regular rising in prices of essential commodities, it has become impossible on the part of the employees to run their families with such a low fixed salary. While reiterating their appeal before the Chief Minister of Assam for sympathetic early consideration of their legitimate grievance referred to their earlier appeal vide Letter No. SDB/GOVAS/I/2022/04379, Date : 25-04-2022, in the Sadbhavana Project on April 25 , 2022 describing all their pitiable conditions which is yet to yield any result so far.
