DOOMDOOMA: In order to include the Bihu dance in the Guinness Book of World records, the State Government has decided to select 11,140 Bihu dancers from all over Assam. About 100 such Bihu dancers will be selected from Sadiya subdivision of the Tinsukia district on April 14 at the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.

For this, the Sadiya Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) has selected 70 Bihu dancers, 30 drummers and toka players and they were physically examined by doctors at Chapakhowa public playground. In the qualification ceremony, Barsha Dowarah, Circle Officer, Sadiya Subdivision Revenue Circle, explained to the participants about various aspects so that they do not have to face any kind of inconvenience in the programme. The selection programme was attended by master trainers Archana Bargohain, Barsha Gogoi, Tonkeshwar Buragohain and Lakshya Jyoti Buragohain.
