GUWAHATI: Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as 'BeerBiceps', arrived in Guwahati on March 7 after he was summoned by the Assam police over his controversial comments on the ‘India's Got Latent’ show.

He is currently being interrogated by the Crime Branch of the Guwahati police at the Crime Branch office as authorities investigate the obscene remarks made during an episode of the viral show hosted by Samay Raina on YouTube. The Assam police had summoned Ranveer earlier last week but he failed to show up.

The controversy stems from an obscene remark made by him on Samay Raina's show 'India's Got Latent'. The vulgar comments clearly did not sit down well with the masses who were left furious by it, with many finding the comments objectionable.

This led to a massive backlash so much so that FIR's were filed against them nationwide, including in Guwahati.

Ashish Chanchlani, a famous YouTuber and co-guest of that controversial episode, also faced similar questioning earlier last week in Guwahati.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court granted YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia the permission to resume his podcast, "The Ranveer Show," under the condition that he adheres to standards of decency in his content. This decision follows Allahbadia's application to lift a previous order that prohibited him from airing his shows.

In his plea, Allahbadia pointed out the effect of the ban on his business, stating that he has 280 employees. The Supreme Court recognized the significance of fundamental rights but asserted that they are subject to some limitations.
