GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma assured that the construction of the Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge is progressing well and is expected to be completed by July 2025.
After the completion of the bridge, the ridge will be free of tolls for all vehicles, with the exception of trucks and commercial buses.
After inspecting the construction site on the South Bank, the CM stated that “work on the upcoming Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge is progressing well, and we plan to dedicate it to the people after July 2025.”
The bridge is designed to improve connectivity between the two banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River, reducing rush hour, and through this, there will be local development in the state.
As per the government's decision to make it free for personal vehicles, their goal is to boost affordability and simplicity for commuters.
This initiative is a part of the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and connectivity throughout Assam, which is believed to bring about a profound change in local economies and simplify travel for residents.
