GUWAHATI: The ferry services connecting Guwahati city with North Guwahati will remain suspended on Tuesday (27th September) from 9 AM to 11:30 AM.

The ferry services will remain suspended for 2 and a half hours on Tuesday for an Air Force show that is being held in Guwahati as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of India's independence and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements.

The Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team (SKAT) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) has planned to paint the skies of Guwahati with rainbow colors and with their daredevilry hundreds of meters up in the sky, they plan to keep Guwahati's eyes glued to the blue playground above.

The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) of the IAF was formed in 1996 and is a part of the 52nd Squadron of the Air Force. The team has since performed numerous demonstrations usually with nine aircraft.

The event will take place at Lachit Ghat in the capital city Guwahati and is scheduled to wow the thousands of crowds by 10 AM on the 27th of September.

Notably, An officer from the city, Wing Commander Rupam Bordoloi is also in the squadron which has planned to create a thundering show in the skies of Guwahati.

It is to be noted that the Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team of the Indian Airforce mesmerized the crowds of Meghalaya last year in December with their air stunts that stumped each and every one.

The Surya Kiran Team is popularly known as the Ambassadors of the Indian Airforce. It also has the distinction of being one among the only few 9 aircraft formations aerobatics teams in the world.

The team is based at Bidar in Karnataka and flies nine Hawk Mk132 aircraft, designed by British Aerospace and licensed and manufactured in India by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited(HAL).
