Hailstorm lashes Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: A sudden blow of strong hailstorm lashed Dhakuakhana subdivision of the Lakhimpur district on Wednesday.

At around 3:00 pm, the hailstorm caused damages to properties of people living in an extensive area under Mornoi Gaon Panchayat under Subansiri Revenue Circle of the subdivision. In more than 12 villages, including Mornoi, Mornoi Chapori, Fuskaramukh, Koupatani, Kath Gaon, Karanga, Nagpur under the said Gaon Panchayat and Patrichuk under Subansiri Gaon Panchayat, the hailstones left the house roof damaged with big holes. Seasonal crops and vegetables farms of the area were also damaged by the hailstorm.
