GOLAGHAT: In a significant step towards improving the healthcare facilities in the district, Health Minister Ashok Singhal inaugurated a dialysis unit under the Prime Minister National Dialysis Programme at the Swahid Kamala Miri Civil Hospital, Bokakhat on Monday. During the inaugural ceremony, the Health Minister was accompanied by Atul Bora, Minister, Agriculture and Excise department. The 3-bedded dialysis unit including 1 recovery bed is equipped with the latest technology and has 2 well-trained technicians to man the unit.
With the inclusion of the new dialysis unit, patients suffering from kidney ailments will be benefited and will receive high-quality service at this Bokakhat subdivision hospital.
Just after the ceremonial inauguration a public meeting was addressed by the Health Minister at the campus of the subdivision hospital. The Health Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to improving healthcare services in the state and at the same time stressing on the awareness of the public towards following healthy lifestyle practices by including a balanced diet, physical activities like yoga, etc., and regular checkups to keep non communicable diseases at bay. The Health Minister also interacted with the patients and their attendants at the pediatric ward, medicine ward, etc. and checked the ICU, registration counter, and others.
In Monday’s inauguration event, the Mission Director, NHM, Assam Dr Lakshmanan S, Director Health Services, Family Welfare Kamaljeet Talukdar, Joint Director of Health Services, Golaghat Dr BL Deuri, and Co-District Commissioner, Bokakhat Shivani Jerngal were present apart from other senior administrative and medical officers, public representatives, health workers, local public, etc.
