Helping hand extended by non-governmental organization to flood victims in Tezpur

TezpuR: In a wake of recent floods, Edupur Society, a non-governmental organization of Tezpur, extended a helping hand to the flood victims of Tinkuria Jaroni Sapori area in Sonitpur district on Sunday. Edupur Society in collaboration with students of Tezpur University, Jagriti Mahila Samiti, Polofield Bamungaon Mahila Samiti, Dekargaon Gaon Panchyat and Tezpur GIMT, collected essential commodities such as rice, dal, drinking water, biscuit, vegetables and oil for those affected by the floods.

A 42-member team lead by Amit Raj Konwar, secretary of Edupur Society, visited Tinkuria Jaroni Sapori, a remote village under Bihaguri Gaon Panchayat of the district and distributed relief items like rice, dal, biscuit, potato, onion, soyabean, Dettol soap, ORS powder, drinking water bottle, sanitary pad and inner garments for women to about 500 flood-affected people. Also, they provided one day’s meal for the affected people.

TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia Regional Students’ Union, in association with Borhomthuri Gabharu Dal, distributed flood relief materials to 150 affected people of Khamti Gowali Gaon at Anganbadi Kendra in Dinjan on Sunday. The relief materials included food, biscuits, sanitary napkins and other essential items. In the programme, Samar Jyoti Gohain, general secretary of Tinsukia District Students’ Union, and other dignitaries were present.
