Heroin seized; 2 drug traffickers held in Tinsukia town

TINSUKIA: Based on specific inputs, Tinsukia Sadar police led by its officer-in-charge Parag Buragohain and TSI Bhaskar Jyoti Baruah, apprehended two drug traffickers from Tinkunia in Tinsukia town on Wednesday and recovered five packets containing 61.8 grams of suspected heroin from their possession.

Identified as Bikash Dutta (27) and Sanjay Konwar (25), both hailing from Lachit Nagar of Makum, the duo arrived from Dimapur by train and intended to deliver the consignment to some customers at Tinsukia. Police also seized a motorcycle bearing registration number AR 11 1904. The market value of the seized drug would be around Rs 5 lakh, according to police.
