Heroin seized, 3 arrested by Karimganj police

SILCHAR: Karimganj police on Thursday recovered considerable quantity of heroin from a car in Badarpur and arrested three persons allegedly involved in drugs syndicate. Based on secret information, Karimganj police led by Additional SP Partha Pratim Das along with Badarpur police intercepted a Maruti Suzuki Alto (AS 10 D 7320) at Badarpur and recovered 48 soap cases each filled with heroin weighing 621.14 grams. Three persons were arrested along with the contraband substances. They were identified as Hussain Ahmed, Islamuddin and Abdul Latif. Hussain and Islamuddin were from Balia village in Nilambajar and Abdul was from Badarpur. The consignment of smuggled substances was loaded at Champai in Mizoram bordering Myanmar.
