High Covid positivity rate in Dima Hasao, active cases 63

HAFLONG: Dima Hasao has 63 active Covid positive cases (3 hospitalized) and a high positivity rate. Dr Marina Changsan, nodal officer, has made a fervent appeal to the people of the district to go for the Covid vaccine booster dose, to remain vigilant and to follow Covid protocol.
She said the health workers were reaching out to the people to provide vaccination but people were still reluctant or hesitant to take the vaccine. "We had a Covid death in Haflong Civil Hospital recently after a long gap - a 60-year with comorbidities from Umrongso," she said.
About 80,000 eligible people in Dima Hasao are yet to take the precaution dose. She further said that as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, they had launched Har Ghar Dastak to provide vaccicination at people's doorstep. She further appealed to the people to cooperate with the health workers considering their painstaking endeavour for providing vaccination to them.
