High-level security meeting held in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: A high-level security meeting was held in Dibrugarh on Thursday regarding security scenario of upper Assam. Special DGP (Law and Order) GP Singh held the security review meeting in Dibrugarh along with Deputy Inspector General (NER) Jitmol Doley and other police officials participated in the meeting.

On Monday, the ULFA and security forces engaged in a fierce gunfight on the Digboi-Pengeri road in upper Assam's Tinsukia district. The rebel group attacked Army vehicle at first and as a result firing started between the two groups. The review meeting was held to thwart any kinds of eventualities. The security has been beefed up in the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.
