BOKO: Kamrup district and metro police recovered 142 rounds of AK-47, a pistol with five rounds of bullets, one round bullet with a revolver, four rounds of INSAS rifle, and explosives from an abandoned factory near the Saturday weekly market in Boko on Thursday early in the morning. This was informed by Superintendent (In-Charge) Renu Kuntala Sital Kumar during a press conference on Thursday night.

SP Kumar also said that the factory owner Pranab Mahanta along with Ketu Rabha, Shivajit Boro, and Amrit Ali were arrested. “Based on confidential information, police raided the place and recovered arms, ammunition and explosives from the spot”, said SP RKS Kumar. The four men were produced before the court on Friday. According to the police officials of Boko police station, they will apply for a police custody of five days for more investigation.

The incident has caused a stir in the area. A case 224/2025 has been registered at Boko police station under several sections of the Arms, UAPA, Explosives and BNS Acts.
