Indian Army organizes skill development training camp at Barama in Baksa District

BARAMA: Indian Army, while playing an important role in nation building, has also been working towards empowering local youths by providing them suitable avenues to lead a dignified life with honour. In such an endeavour, in order to upgrade, educate and empower local youth and to promote their entrepreneur's instinct, 107 Brigade of Red Horns Division recently organized a 26-day long skill development training classes at Barama in Baksa District under 'Op Sadbhavana'.

A total of 18 boys and 12 girls of rural area took part in the training camp. They were imparted training in repair of mobile phones and LED/ LCD TVs. They were also imparted valuable training in spoken English, entrepreneurship and economics which will help them if they wished to establish their own enterprise in future. The project will assist impoverished youths in erstwhile insurgency-infested areas to earn a respectful livelihood and become an honorable member of the civil society. The classes were organized in collaboration with Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) and students were provided certificates under Skill India Mission on termination of the project.
