GUWAHATI: The Pakistani spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the terrorist groups backed by them, reportedly, planned to create bloodshed in Assam after the Garukhuti violence.

The Assam police intelligence agency unearthed the planning of the ISI and the terrorist groups and alerted the security agencies. Commenting on the development, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the government and the security agencies would do needful before the terrorist act.

"Those who give threatening, always do that. We will act before them," he added.

Meanwhile, Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said that they have some inputs. "We have some inputs. So, we are to remain alert. We have taken necessary steps," the DGP further said.

On the other hand, in the wake of the communal violence in Bangladesh and considering the immersion of Durga idols followed by Fateha-Dwaz-Daham (Eid Milad un Nabi/Prophet Muhammad's birth celebration) in West Bengal, the state intelligence department has issued an alert to all the districts particularly those bordering Bangladesh and asked the authorities to sensitize the officers to avoid any kind of untoward incident.

In a detailed alert sent to DG, ADG (Law and Order) and all the SPs and Commissioners, issued by the Additional Director General (Intelligence Branch) said, "Input further received reveals that some incidents of vandalism and arson on Hindu temples, Durga Puja pandals are reportedly taking place in Noakhali district and Chittagong district in Bangladesh after completion of Jumma Namaj. Iskcon temple at Noakhali has also been vandalised".
