ITBPF Jawan Killed in Road Mishap in Sivasagar District

GAURISAGAR: Pallav Gogoi (25), a jawan of Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF) and a resident of Bhagamukh Bhitarual Maj Gaon in Sivasagar district died in a road accident that took place on NH 37 at Charing Ali Kekuri, 4 km away from Gaurisagar Police Station on Sunday morning. According to reports, Pallav was travelling towards home from Jhanji Hanchara by riding a motorcycle bearing registration No AS04 AA 293. Suddenly his motorcycle collided head with a dumper bearing registration no AS O3 AC 9571 coming from the opposite direction.

After receiving information, Gaurisagar Police rushed to the spot and immediately admitted the jawan in Sibsagar Civil Hospital. However, the doctor declared him dead. Following the accident, the dumper fled the spot. Later, the Jorhat Police after receiving CCTV footage from Gaurisagar Police Station was able to nab the driver and the dumper was seized. Notably, Pallav was deployed at Chandigarh and was transferred to Arunachal Pradesh. His sudden demise has been widely mourned in the greater Bhagamukh area. He is survived by his wife, a six-month-old boy, parents and a brother. After the postmortem, his last rites were performed in his native village.
