GOLAGHAT: The Jamuguri Press Club recently organized a special ceremony to felicitate over 150 meritorious students who excelled in their academic pursuits. The event was held at the Jamuguri market grounds and featured various programmes, including flag hoisting, tree plantation, and a literary competition.

During the ceremony, Jagannath Das was awarded the ‘Bir Birochon Chutia’ award for securing the highest marks in the HSLC exam. Zirmiya Harpal was awarded the ‘Suren Saikia’ award for securing the highest marks in the Higher Secondary exam, while Nabadeep Saikia was awarded the ‘Khageshwar Saikia Memorial’ award for securing the highest marks in the Science stream.

The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Rajdeep Bailing Baruah, Chief Editor of ND24, Rohit Gogoi, President of Golaghat District Journalists’ Association, and Pranab Chakraborty, Secretary of APCU Kendriya Samiti. The ceremony also featured a cultural programme, which included songs, dances, and other performances by local artistes. The programme was a huge success, with many attendees appreciating the talent and creativity of the performers.

The Jamuguri Press Club’s initiative aimed to recognize and encourage meritorious students in the region, and to promote academic excellence among the youth. The event was a grand success, and the Press Club plans to continue organizing similar events in the future.
