Jana Aushadhi Kendra Inaugurated at Vivekananda Kendra, Numaligarh Refinery Ltd Hospital

Numaligarh: Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJPK) is a campaign launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India, to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses through special Kendras known as Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras. Accordingly, a Jana Aushadhi Kendra under BPPI (Bureau of Pharma Public Sector Undertakings of India) was inaugurated on Friday evening at Vivekananda Kendra, Numaligarh Refinery Ltd Hospital.

This is the first of its kind in the country amongst the oil companies and first one in the district of Golaghat. The Jana Aushadhi Kendra was inaugurated by SK Barua, Managing Director, NRL. Addressing the gathering, SK Barua said, “Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJPK) was started to provide generic drugs which are available at lesser prices but are equivalent in quality and efficacy to expensive branded drugs. The Jan Aushadhi Kendra at the VKNRL Hospital will make available quality drugs at affordable prices and will benefit the patients to a great extent, especially people from the economically weaker sections of the region.”
