Haflong: An important review meeting was convened at the Circuit House in Haflong to address the persistent connectivity challenges along the Jatinga–Harangajao stretch of National Highway 27 (NH-27).
The meeting was chaired by Minister Kaushik Rai and attended by key officials, including Chief Executive Member (CEM) Debolal Gorlosa, Executive Member Donpainon Thaosen of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC), Principal Secretary DHAC, the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Dima Hasao, representatives from the PWD Department, the Project Director and PIU of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), among others.
CEM Gorlosa stated that the discussions with NHAI officials were in-depth and constructive, focusing on the long-standing infrastructure issues affecting this vital stretch of the highway. He assured that the connectivity work is scheduled for completion by January 26, 2026, aiming for a timely resolution.
Marking World Environment Day, the attendees also took part in a sapling plantation drive in and around the Circuit House premises, reinforcing their commitment to environmental sustainability alongside infrastructure development.
