BOKO: Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Kailash Kartik N visited Jawaharlal Nehru College in Boko on Wednesday. The college will be set up as a quarantine centre for people returning from outside the State.

The DC was accompanied by Boko Revenue Circle Officer Pinki Dutta, Chamaria Revenue Circle Officer Aditi Gogoi and Boko Police Station officer-in charge Jogendra Barman.

During his visit, Kailash Kartik N said that the district administration had decided to set up quarantine centres in every legislative constituency. As a part of this, a quarantine centre for 300 people will be set up in Amingaon IIT and another centre will be set up in the Patanjali centre in Palashbari. On the other hand, few hotels in Kamrup district have also been booked as quarantine centres. Boko Revenue Circle Officer Pinki Dutta said that the Jawaharlal Nehru College quarantine centre would be 100 bedded.

Every required facility will be provided to the quarantined people. PHED Boko Subdivisional officer Babul Boro said that the Public Health Engineering Department had been constructing 16 bathrooms and toilets and would be supplying water in the quarantine centre.
