John Abraham and Varun Dhawan appeal fans to help Assam flood victims

Guwahati: At a time when Assam is reeling under the damage caused by floods, the two Bollywood celebrities John Abraham and Varun Dhawan, have appealed the people to extend their helping hand for the flood-hit people of the state.

Both the actors shared some disturbing pictures of the flood-devastated Assam in order to create awareness among the people which in turn they believe will take shapes of useful aid.

John Abraham, with over 3.1 million followers in Twitter tweeted, "Assam needs help…Urgent." In his post, he added the Assam government's "Donate to Chief Minister's Relief Fund" link so that interested people can provide monetary help.

Posting pictures of submerged houses on his Instagram story, Varun Dhawan wrote, "Assam needs our help" with the CM relief fund link attached in the "Swipe Up" option. He has over 30 million followers on Instagram. Earlier, premier football clubs Arsenal and Chelsea had shown solidarity with the flood-affected people of Assam.

The death toll due to the devastation caused by floods in Assam is 84 till today. At various places, the Brahmaputra is flowing over the danger level. Assam is going through tough times struggling with the devastating impact of the deluge on one hand and the increasing trend of the pandemic on the other.
