BOKAKHAT: The Komargaon Regional Journalists’ Association, under the Bokakhat subdivision of Golaghat district, has announced the recipients of its annual journalism and literary awards for 2025.
According to a press release issued by the association, the “Mukti Yoddha Dumbi Kaman Memorial Journalism Award” will be conferred upon Montu Saikia, a senior journalist from Furkating. Saikia, who serves as the Associate Editor of a newspaper is also a noted author and cultural activist. The award, instituted in 2018, honours outstanding contributions to journalism within the Golaghat district.
Meanwhile, the “Mahendra Nath Hazarika Memorial Literary Award” will be presented to Lokda Hazarika, a respected writer and retired teacher from Komargaon, in recognition of his contributions to literature and education.
Both awards will be formally conferred on September 25, the death anniversary of freedom fighter Dumbi Kaman, during a commemorative event organized by the association.
In addition, several other journalists from across the Golaghat district will be specially felicitated on the same day, as stated in the press release.
