KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang extends one-time financial assistance

Diphu: In the time of crisis following the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) chief executive member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang, has extended one-time financial assistance to help people from Karbi Anglong who are stranded in different parts of the country.

Earlier, through CEM Relief Fund aid had been given to 4,076 persons, including students and workers from Karbi Anglong who are stranded in various States across the country and to those needy students coming from remote villages in Karbi Anglong who are stranded in Diphu due to the nationwide lockdown.

On Monday, a total amount of Rs 48,34,476 was given to 5,035 persons, including workers and students. SBI account holders for the sum of Rs 26, 80,000 would receive the money on Monday while account holders of other banks for the sum of Rs 21,54,476 would receive the money by Tuesday.

The CEM said, “I have sent relief of over Rs 1.26 crore to more than 10,700 beneficiaries. I appeal to all to contribute towards this cause with whatever amount through the CEM Relief Fund.”
