Kalaigaon women organizations stage dharna against CAA

KALAIGAON: Women organizations of Kalaigaon like Mahila Lekhika Samaroh and Nari Adhikar Surakshya Samiti staged dharna against the Citizenship (Amendment)Act, 2019 on Saturday in the premises of Kalaigaon Inspection Bungalow. They were supported by the Kalaigaon unit of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) and Kalaigaon AJYCP, Kendukolai Sahitya Samaj and Kakaigaon Asomiya Aikay Mancha.

Anti- CAA and anti-government slogans were raised by the protesters in this dharna. Talking to The Sentinel, Ranjit Nath, president of Kalaigaon AASU, said, “We will continue to fight against the CAA in a democratic way. We have lost all faith in the present State Government and the government has been also showing its fascist character.”

The activists said that they would give the government a fitting reply in the next government.
