Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council to form panels to oversee home quarantine

DIPHU: Under the chairmanship of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang, a meeting on preparedness for COVID-9 in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong was held at the KAAC conference hall on Saturday.

The meeting resolved that MAC-wise village-level Home Quarantine Committees would be constituted in respect of both the districts where local MAC would be the chairman and the VDC chairman, BDO, government gaon burha, Anganwadi workers, ANM/MPW/Asha will be the members of the committee.

CEM Ronghang directed medical teams to ensure availability of essentials commodities in the twin districts. He also said that necessary steps should be taken to check hoarding of essentials commodities and stringent action must be taken against the defaulters. CEM Ronghang said that KAAC along with the district administration should prepare day-to-day record of the arrival of passengers in the district from outside and the medical teams would screen the passengers at the entry point and those found symptomatic would be kept either at the hospital or at the recognized quarantine centre.
