KOKRAJHAR: Swrjilu Visual Artistes Society and Monalisa Society of Kokrajhar have been organizing 15-day long workshops on creative art and culture in different places of Kokrajhar to explore and express creativity through various art forms, fostering cultural appreciation and exchange.
Talking to The Sentinel, Sanjay Swargiary of Swrjilu Visual Artistes Society told that a 15-day long workshop on creative art was being organized by the society at Jaleswari High School under Kokrajhar West constituency since July 10 under the sponsorship of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Assam and will conclude on July 24. He said that the workshop was being organized by different cultural societies in five constituencies in Kokrajhar district for the students to explore their creativity in different fields.
Swargiary said that the aim of the workshop was to hunt down talents in painting, drawing, sculpture, and other activities to unleash the creativity of the students in this summer vacation. He said that the workshop would impart knowledge on diverse cultural practices, traditions and art forms, music, dance, theatre, and other performance arts to encourage creative expression. He also said that working together on art pieces reflected cultural diversity and creativity through which the students would develop skills and confidence in various art forms besides gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.
Meanwhile, Pabitra Basumatary of Monalisa Society informed that they had also started a 15-day workshop on creative art at Magurmari High School in collaboration with the district administration on enhancing creativity, self-expression, and confidence. He said that their target was exploring artistes, art enthusiasts, students, and interested students in creative expression. He also said that the Headmistress of Magurmari High School Binapani Basumatary inaugurated the workshop.
