Kowarpur Press Club (KPC), one of the active journalist body in Sivasagar district organized its 7th annual conference and award-giving programme

GAURISAGAR: Kowarpur Press Club (KPC), one of the active journalist body in Sivasagar district organized its 7th annual conference and award-giving programme on Tuesday at Nakatani High School auditorium and conferred the 'Konwarpur Gaurov Award' to noted writer-educationist Dr Prasanta Kumar Chutia and the 'Siksha Ratna Award' to Kamaljyoti Gogoi, Inspector of schools, Sivasagar and Charaideo for his outstanding achievement in leading the district schools to the first position in the Gunatsov assessment successively for the second year.
The meeting was chaired by Padum Kumar Saikia, KPC president. In the meeting, a good number of scribes and entrepreneurs were conferred awards for their distinguished services to society. Dr.Ranjit Kumar Baruah, principal of Dikhowmukh college took part as a distinguish guest. Earlier in the event KPC felicitated Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav. Addressing the gathering he expressed his thankfulness to KPC for honouring him. At the same time he urged upon the students' community to be careful using mobile phones. He also released a book 'Abhisapta Dinar Dinlipi' written by late Karuna Dutta, a dedicated social worker.
