LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur District Bar Association will extend free of cost legal aid to the CAA-victims who were ‘oppressed’ by the government. The Association will bear all kind of expenditure which has to be borne by the CAA victims during their trial. This crucial decision was taken by the organization in an urgent executive meeting held on Tuesday. The meeting was held at the office of the Bar Association with its president Dhebor Gohainbaruah in the chair.

The members of the Bar Association have unanimously extended their support to the agitation initiated against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), 2019. Notably, the Bar Association undertook various movements against the Act during the last couple of days.
