Lakhimpur organizations organize functions on Children’s Day

LAKHIMPUR: Along with the other parts of the nation, Children’s Day was observed by various academic and socio-cultural institutions across Lakhimpur district on Thursday.

The Basantalata-Bisweswar Changkakati Sowarani Sankardev Shishu Bidya Niketan, located at North Lakhimpur town observed the event with colourful programmes, staging different cultural programmes. The programme under the management of Acharya Munindra Neog began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamps by Pradhan Acharya (Lower Section) Rekhamoni Baruah and paying of floral tribute at the portrait of Jawaharlal Nehru by Pradhan Acharya (Upper Section), Ghana Nath.

In the programme, ten hand written magazines, prepared by the the students of all sections of each class, from Class V to IX, were released by journalist Jitumoni Neog. This year, the academic institution felicitated a galaxy of journalists in the same programme for their contributions in the field. The students of the school performed various cultural programmes in connection with the event, observed in the presence of invited guests, dignitaries of the school management committee, Matri Bharati, guardians’ body and Acharyas. The programme organized on the occasion of the event at Dhakuakhana Central School commenced with paying homage to Jawaharlal Nehru by headmaster Keshav Gogoi. The wall magazine ‘Rainbow’ prepared by the students of Class X was released by Dhakuakhana Model HS School Principal Kalpana Gogoi. The school observed the day with recitation, singing and dance items performed by the students. The Twinkle Kids of the subdivision also observed the event organizing programmes in a befitting manner. The programmes organized in this school on the occasion was chaired by a talented student Gauranga Chutia.
