Land pattas distributed to families across Assam

KOKRAJHAR: The distribution of land pattas and land allotment certificates to landless people of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) area got underway from the 'House of Change', Bodofa Nwgwr, Kokrajhar on Saturday. The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTR, Pramod Boro ceremonially handed over the land pattas and allotment certificates to landless beneficiaries in presence of Executive Members and other dignitaries. On the same day, the land pattas and allotment certificates were given to landless people in all district headquarters of BTR at Kajalgaon, Mushalpur and Udalguri simultaneously held under the aegis of the Revenue and Disaster Management department in association with BTC administration.

In Kokrajhar, the land patta distribution ceremony was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Bhaskar Phukan. The programme was also attended by EMs of BTR-Ranendra Narzary and Arup Kr. Dey, MCLA Dr. Nilut Swargiary while Secretary of Land and Revenue department, BTC, Dharani Dhar Boro gave the welcome address. As many as 1,696 families of Kokrajhar district will receive the land pattas while six beneficiaries under Kokrajhar revenue circle ceremonially received the certificate.

According to official sources from Land and Revenue department, in Kokrajhar district, altogether 1,696 families received land certificates, of which 1,527 families received land allotment certificate while 169 families received land pattas. Similarly in Chirang district, out of total 1,260 families, 492 families received land allotment certificate while 768 families received land pattattas, in Baksa district, out of total 822 families, 397 families received allotment certificate while 425 families received land pattas and in Udalguri district, out of total 1,966 families, 1,523 families received allotment certificate while 443 families received land pattas.

LAKHIMPUR: The ceremonial programme for the distribution of land patta and land distribution certificate in Lakhimpur district was held in the District Library auditorium on Saturday. The programme was organized under the aegis of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department and Lakhimpur district administration wherein ADC Manorama Morang delivered the welcome address.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jeevan B distributed the land pattas to a total of 501 beneficiaries living under North Lakhimpur, Naoboicha, Bihpuriya and Narayanpur Revenue Circles of the district. On the other hand, land allotment certificates were distributed to a total of 553 beneficiaries. Attending the programme, District Development Commissioner Manoj Kumar Baruah delivered lecture. Circle Officer of North Lakhimpur Revenue Circle Dhrubajyoti Hatibaruah, Assistant Commissioner Rima Koushik, Zila Parishad members Kabita Roy Saikia, Chandra Chutia were among those who were present in the programme.

DIBRUGARH: On the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's land patta distribution programme at Jerengapathar in Sivsagar district on Sunday, the Dibrugarh district administration, in association with the State Disaster Management Department, at a function held at the NRHM conference room at the Deputy Commissioner's office, kicked off the programme with the distribution of land allotment and pattas among 8,217 landless families and small tea growers in the district.

Similar programmes were also held in the seven revenue circles of the district. All the programmes were formally started with the direct virtual screening of Prime Minister's land allotment and patt distribution programme at Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar district.

Land pattas and allotment letters were distributed among the 105 beneficiaries in the meeting and it will cover 8,217 land less families and small tea growers in the district. It is expected that by January 30 this year, the number of beneficiaries will surpass to 9,000. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Thapa in his welcome address stated that in the current financial year, 12,000 indigenous landless people in the district will be covered under it .

Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha, while delivering his keynote address, stated that more than 14,000 families had been covered in the district under the scheme since 2017. "The process to allot the land pattas to the small tea growers by the district administration is underway," he said. He also stated that the beneficiaries who received the land pattas and allotment letters under the scheme would now enjoy the benefit of government's schemes which they were deprived of earlier.

BONGAIGAON: Along with other districts of the State, land patta and land allotment certificates were distributed to the landless indigenous people in Chirang district on Saturday.

After the ceremonial distribution of land patta and allotment certificates by the Prime Minister of India at Sivsagar Jerenga Pathar, distribution of land patta s among 200 beneficiaries and distribution of land allotment certificates among 638 beneficiaries under Bijni, Sidli and Bengtal Revenue Circles of Chirang district was also organized in the premises of the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Kajalgaon, Chirang.

BAKSA: A total of 397 allotment certificates and 425 pattas were distributed on Saturday in a function held at the Cultural Complex, Mushalpur, Baksa.

A total of 103 allotment certificates and pattas to landless indigenous peoples of six revenue circles of the district were distributed in the ceremonial function organized under the aegis of Bodoland Territorial Council and district administration of Baksa. The Deputy Chief Executive Member of BTC, Gobinda Basumatary took part in the function and appealed that indigenous people must be aware about their land rights. He also described the future plan the newly-formed council regarding the land rights for the people.
