Lecture on Avatar Shri Krishna organized in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: "The Supreme Lord took the incarnation of Shri Krishna not just to reinstall Yudhishthira in the throne. He came to the world with a new and universal consciousness of spirituality. Through the 66th verse of the 18th chapter of the Gita. He advised Arjuna to abandon all varieties of dharmas and simply surrender unto 'Him' alone and then He would liberate him from all sinful reactions. Thus he advised the people through Arjuna to worship the God, Who is in the heart of all", stated Diganta Biswa Sarma in Lakhimpur on Monday.
The 'Sahitya Akademi Translation Award winner literary figure of the State said this while delivering a lecture on "Avatar Shri Krishna" organized by the Lakhimpur district unit of Hindu Yuba Chatra Parishad, Asom (HYCPA).
The event was held at Lakhimpur Xahitya Xabha Bhavan located in North Lakhimpur town from 3:30 pm. In his lecture, the speaker explained and interpreted what Shri Krishna actually is, the objectives of the Krishna incarnation, His universal teachings for mankind for their individual, social and spiritual transformation on the basis of the Bhagawat Gita.
The event began in a spiritual environment with the holy sound of conch blown by Tamak Ranjan Dutta and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Madhab Hazarika, the former president of the Lakhimpur district unit of the Viswa Hindu Parishad, in the chair. In the same event,HYCPA Central Committee president Balen Baishya, Lakhimpur district unit president Jugmajyoti Dutta accorded warm felicitation to Diganta Biswa Sarma for his achievement of winning the Sahitya Akademi Translation Award, 2020 for the Assamese language. The prestigious award was presented to him for the translation of the book named "Foundation of Indian Culture" to the Assamese language.
A galaxy of noted personalities along with senior citizen-cum-social activist Babul Borah, retired principal Padmeswar Borah were present in the event.
Notably, Diganta Biswa Sarma will deliver the lecture on same topic at Boginandi on Tuesday and at Azad on Wednesday in the Lakhimpur district.
