Lilabari Sakha Xahitya Xabha holds its biennial session in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: The biennial session of the Lilabari Sakha Xahitya Xabha, a branch unit of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX), was held on Tuesday with a day-long programme. The agenda of the event began with the unfurling of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) flag by branch unit president Jiten Saikia. It was followed by a smriti tarpan and a series of literary competitions among the students.

The open session of the event commenced with the newly-elected president of the branch unit Xahitya Xabha, Sadananda Chetiya in the chair. It was inaugurated by Lakhimpur District Xahitya Xabha (LDXX) organizing secretary Bipul Sarmah Baruah while president Sapon Kumar Dutta graced the occasion as chief guest. Reception committee president Bipin Borah delivered the welcome address. The programme started with the chorus performance of the AXX title song presented by the women artists under the branch unit. LDXX vice-president Umananda Baruah, secretary Biren Chandra Bordoloi and other dignitaries were present in the programme as guests of honour.

In the same programme, the regular publication of the branch unit Xahitya Xabha, Lilabari Saurabh was released by chief guest Sapon Kumar Dutta. This programme was preceded by the delegates’ meet wherein the executive body of the branch unit for the 2020-22 session was formed with Sadananda Chetia as president and Padmanath Sarmah as vice-president.
