JAMUGURIHAT: A team of Jamuguri Police in association with the civil administration conducted a raid against country liquor and destroyed the dens of illicit liquor. The raids have been going on since July 9.

It is to be mentioned here that the liquor dens have been identified as hotspots for the community spread of the COVID-19. On July 9, the 'Guardian Minister' for Sonitpur district, Pijush Hazarika instructed the Jamuguri Police and the Excise department to root out the liquor dens that are located in and around Jamugurihat.

On Wednesday, a team of Jamuguri police along with the excise department and the civil administration had conducted a raid in villages of Mohmora Par and Habipal. During the raid, the oppressors managed to recover a huge sum of country liquor that was hiding in the bushes, dense forest and from the gutters.

The police team destroyed nearly three thousand country liquor. The raid was conducted by Pranjal Kumar Nath, officer in-charge of Jamuguri Police Station, Mukut Talukdar along with the team which was also attended by Akashdeep Kakaty, Circle Officer of Naduar Revenue Circle and Mantush Chakraborty, Circle Officer.
