Magisterial probe ordered into Doomdooma incident

TINSUKIA: The District Magistrate, Tinsukia ordered a magisterial level inquiry into the Doomdooma incident in which Hemkanta Hatimuriya, a forest guard under Doomdooma Forest Division, was allegedly assaulted by Rajendra Singh Bharti, Divisional Forest Officer of Doomdooma Forest Division on 7.9.2022.

Singh allegedly tore his dress and abused him verbally in the name of caste and community. Hatimuriya alleged that his artificial left eye ball came out due to physical assault by DFO Singh. Dipu Kr. Deka, Additional District Magistrate, Tinsukia has been entrusted with the responsibility to enquire into the incident and to submit the report within 7 days.
