DEMOW: Four- lane highway construction works are going on in full swing on the NH-37 road in Demow. On Monday, a person fell inside a broken drain near the road near Demow Central Market, and was seriously injured. According to information received, Umesh Gogoi (55 years), a resident of Nitaipukhuri Dehingia Gaon, had come to Demow for some work. Due to the fall, he broke his right leg and sustained injuries on his hand and chest. The locals sent Gogoi to the Demow Model Hospital for treatment.

The construction company has built poor-quality drains, due to which the residents of Demow are suffering. In many places, the drains have caved in, causing immense difficulties to the pedestrians, and such incidents that took place on Monday. The locals demanded the concerned authority to look into the matter seriously and take strict action against the construction company.
